The Turtle & The Scorpion

A turtle was preparing to cross a stream, when a scorpion nearby asked him for a ride across the water, as he couldn't swim. The turtle refused, saying the scorpion would sting him. The scorpion pointed out that that would be senseless, since it would kill him also. The turtle, seeing the sense of this, agreed to help him across the stream. Halfway across, the scorpion stung him. The turtle cried out "But WHY! You have killed us both!" The scorpion replied "Because it is my nature.
